2000

Foundation of the J. Hansen Vermarktungsgesellschaft mbh as the first trading company for organic meat in Europe; trade products are meat cuts of pork, beef, lamb and poultry.


2001
Move to office space in the Holtenauer Straße 81, Kiel.

Yearly turnover: 1.1 Million DM

2002

The J. Hansen Vermarktungsgesellschaft mbH becomes a processor of organic meat certified by Bioland.


2006

Friland A/S acquires the J. Hansen Vermarktungsgesellschaft mbh.
In addition to the trade business, slaughter and deboning are commissioned.

The number of employees rises from 2 to 4.

Yearly turnover: 6.6 Million €


2008
Move to spacious offices in the Fraunhoferstraße 2, Kiel. The number of employees rises from 4 to 7.

Yearly turnover: 12 Million €

2009
The J. Hansen Vermarktungsgesellschaft mbH takes on responsibility for the export business of Friland A/S. Friland A/S slaughters 1500 organic pigs per week.

2010
The J. Hansen Vermarktungsgesellschaft mbH celebrates its 10th anniversary.

From 1st of October 2010 the J. Hansen Vermarktungsgesellschaft mbH changes its name in Friland J. Hansen GmbH.

2012
The Friland J. Hansen GmbH shows a significantly stronger engagement in buying organic lifestock.

The number of employees rises to 9.

Turnover in the first half of 2011/12: 10.8 Million €
